A Shell in the Pit
A Shell in the Pit is a solo music project gone haywire. In Korea, away from home in British Columbia, Canada, Gordon McGladdery released his first solo album "The Master of the House" in 2011 as A Shell in the Pit. He then came home to pursue a career as a composer, and landed in games after the breakout success of 2013's Rogue Legacy. Too exasperated to rebrand, A Shell in the Pit became one of the largest game audio studios in North America for sound effects while musically remaining a solo act. A Shell in the Pit's prolific soundtrack work includes Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, Wandersong, and Sneaky Sasquatch among many other fan favourites. His non-game work is deeply introspective, blending electronic rhythms and textures with starkly organic elements and unusual instrumentation, huge builds and hooks you wish would never end.
