by Scott YanowThe fifth of six SteepleChase CDs taken from the 1964 broadcasts of tenor great Dexter Gordon and his quartet (pianist Tete Montoliu, bassist Niels-Henning orsted Pedersen and drummer Alex Riel) from Copenhagen's Montmartre Club once again finds Gordon in top form. He performs extended versions of four standards ("Just Friends," "Three O'Clock in the Morning," "Where Are You?" and "It's You or No One" with creativity and the music is quite enjoyable, recommended to bop fans.
